Dear sea friends, I currently have a methanol-based mixture with the following mass percentages: water 4.6%, dimethyl ether 11.2%, and methanol 84.2%. I have two options: either to sell it directly or to use it as fuel for energy generation. Please share your opinions! ! !
This methanol should be burnable, right? ? ? ?
Sell it; it yields better economic benefits

Reply to 4# Chemical gas purification: Since the process I designed is for producing dimethyl ether, there is some dimethyl ether present in the by-product methanol. What do you think is the most appropriate way to handle this methanol, moderator?
Reply to 6# amosleescut: It would be better to send it back as feedstock to the dimethyl ether system for dimethyl ether production; this issue can be addressed from a process perspective.
I think you should consider ways to reduce the dimethyl ether content in methanol, in order to address the problem with methanol at its root
