After the exchange, the upward brick gas channel becomes downward; air can enter through the carbon removal holes. However, the temperature here isn’t very high, right? Since the gas does not burn inside the brick gas channel as it moves upward, and assuming no heat loss, the highest temperature reached will be that of the preheater. Is this temperature sufficient to reach the ignition points of tar and graphite?
