The manual states that for small pumps, the elevation of the equipment foundation should be above 300 mm, while for large pumps, it should be above 150 mm. I would like to ask why this is the case? Is it still a mistake in the manual?
There are no specific requirements regarding the base elevation; for a single pump, you can arrange it however you want. As for the entire system, it needs to be designed in accordance with the standards set by the design institute.
When installing a pump, is the installation height taken into consideration? As for the base height, it seems to be determined by the design institute; I’ve seen cases where it was too high and others where it was too low
The base height of the pump is determined based on your process pipeline, right? If the foundation isn’t proper, how can the process pipelines be connected?
The book only provides a suggested basis; the actual figures are determined uniformly by those skilled in this field
It is advisable for the outlet elevation of the pump to be parallel to the outlet pipeline, and there should be no elbows at the outlet, as this can improve the pump’s efficiency
If it comes to process design, I think there should be certain standards, so that there will be a reference point for the design of various devices and equipment! Otherwise, a design without data is chaotic. This is my opinion~!
