What does CDI stand for?

Do you know what is meant by “CDI-based hydrogen recovery” in the context of “hydrogen production via electrolysis and hydrogen production via CDI recovery”? And what does ‘CDI’ stand for? How to explain it? Thank you!
CDI water treatment technology is a pollution-free, low-energy-consuming water treatment method with high added value. It utilizes the structure of capacitors and the principles of charging and discharging to achieve electrostatic adsorption, thereby floating contaminants in water, preventing pollution, or desalinating seawater. CDI removes charged substances in water, such as heavy metals, anions, and acid radicals, through a non-destructive physical process, ensuring that drinking water and wastewater meet environmental standards.

This post was last edited by Egret Bank on 2010-8-13 10:56. CDI: Exhaust gas adsorption treatment method – utilizing the adsorptive properties of activated carbon on mixed gases. When the mixture passes through activated carbon, the low-boiling compounds in it are adsorbed by the carbon. Once the activated carbon becomes saturated, steam is used to heat it, thereby releasing the adsorbed low-boiling compounds, which are then sent out of the system along with the synthetic product for separation. The unadsorbed material is discharged after being absorbed by water, while the remaining hydrogen is sent for reuse. This method requires high standards for activated carbon, uses a large amount of steam, and is not cost-effective. -

If it is polysilicon recycling, then CDI recycling is different, because the hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, and silicon trichloride associated with polysilicon are all high-purity substances; their production costs are very high, so the recycling cost is lower than the production cost.
The original poster was referring to CDI, not SDI.
Reply to 8# Egret Shoal, right? Because I don’t know what CDI exactly means, but it is one of the tests for polysilicon. I am currently in the * stage of learning, so I’m not very clear about it. Hehe……
