Can seamless pipes, straight-seam pipes, and spiral pipes all be used in steam piping systems? Which one is the worst? Is it feasible to use coiled tubes in steam pipelines? Will it have an impact on subsequent operations? Please discuss.
Try to use seamless pipes; it’s rare to see spiral pipes used.

Seamless pipes are also cheap these days, so try to use them. Are spiral welded pipes used more or less in steel structures?
It depends on the size of the design pipe diameter. Seamless pipes with a diameter of over 530 are less available in the market, but their prices are more or less the same.

Steam is a medium with a relatively high temperature. Item 3 of 7.1.6 in SH3059 states that spiral-welded submerged-arc welded steel pipes are primarily used for pipelines carrying non-extremely hazardous media at design temperatures not exceeding 300°. For steam pipes with small diameters, seamless pipes can be used; for those with larger diameters, straight-seam electrofusion welded steel pipes are suitable. Spiral submerged arc welding should be avoided as much as possible.
Seamless steel pipes are generally used more often for steam pipelines; it’s better to use seamless ones, as there isn’t much difference anyway
