In winter, the ambient temperature averages -20°C; the gas used is coke oven gas, and the temperature of the medium is 20°C. Is it necessary to implement anti-freezing insulation? The pipe is very large, over 1 meter long. Also, how is freezing prevention for the condensate water seal in the pipes handled? Can continuous flow of water seal make-up water ensure anti-freezing, or is heating necessary?
The pipelines for coke oven gas do not need to be insulated; the condensed water can be drained regularly during shutdown, and no water remains in the pipelines during operation. To prevent freezing, a continuous flow of water can be used as a water seal.
