I just started working and am currently on duty at the Dagou workshop. I would like to ask my colleagues: how can we prevent the belt from drifting when replacing the coke conveyor belt? The total length of the belt is over 200 meters. Personally, I think two main aspects should be considered: first, when fixing the new belt to the old one, the connection point needs to be horizontal ; Secondly, the location where the new belt is unwound must be accurate; that is, when the old belt is started to pull the new belt onto the idler rollers, the force applied to both sides of the belt should be equal.
The total length of the conveyor belts in our company amounts to 570 meters. However, when replacing these belts, the simplest and most basic methods are used. The results of this approach are quite good – that is, human labor is employed for the replacement process. Over 200 employees are involved each time a belt is replaced, and it’s a truly spectacular sight. There’s someone with a walkie-talkie to give instructions every few dozen meters, and of course, people also shout commands, haha! Don’t try to cut corners; machines simply can’t match the reliability of human effort – it’s best to use manual labor!
It is recommended to replace it with a new one; there are many reasons for deviation, and it relies mainly on experience and skills: 1) adjustment training for operators; 2) there are now automatic alignment trailers available, and ceramic ones offer very good results. 3 Avoid a concentrated buildup of carbon at the top during charring. Adjust the sag of the 4 conveyor belts properly; different sag levels accommodate different total loads, and adjustments should be made accordingly based on actual conditions

I believe that the misalignment and damage of the coke conveyor belt are mainly caused by incomplete coke quenching, as well as the use of water on the coke cooling platform to quench the coke, which results in moisture on the belt and thus causes slipping and misalignment between the drum and the belt. The belt in our factory has been in use for one and a half years; it was just replaced, yet we still have to pull it up manually.
We also use manual labor to replace them with brand new ones
