Tower 2 is an abnormal tower. There is no top reflux, only the tower kettle is extracted. The gas phase at the top of the tower is directly returned to the liquid phase in the tower 1 kettle. The temperature of the tower 2 kettle is 150°. It is difficult to form a thermosiphon. I don’t know the reason. It relies on a pump for forced circulation. I asked if it is possible to add a pipeline pump at the connection between the reboiler and the tower and use a pipeline pump for forced circulation. The tower is at normal pressure. Can the pipeline pump withstand a temperature of 150°? Does it need frequency conversion?
There should be a pump with a temperature resistance of 150°C. If thermosiphon cannot be formed, check the difference between the pressure at the top of tower 2 and the pressure at the bottom of the kettle. If it does not work, reduce the pressure at the bottom of the kettle of tower 1.
Reply 2# wdh2010 Tower 2 and Tower 1 are both atmospheric towers with no pressure. The feed is mainly fed from the top of Tower 2. The light components in the cold material have a very low boiling point, 60°, and the heavy components have a boiling point of 190°. The tower kettle is heated to 150°. It is difficult for the light components to evaporate and undergo phase change in the tower kettle, so it is difficult to form a siphon.
