Regarding plate and frame filter presses, there are two points I’m not clear about. 1. What is the typical pressure drop for plate and frame filter presses? 2. The feed to a plate and frame filter press is usually pumped in under pressure; is the filtrate output also under pressure? In terms of the process, if the filtrate is under pressure, it could be sent directly to the next reaction vessel. I’m not sure if this is feasible; could someone help answer this question? Thank you
The feeding pressure of the filter press is determined by the properties of the material in question; some materials can be filtered effectively at a pressure of 6 kilograms, while others require a pressure of 20 kilograms. It varies depending on the material. The filtrate that comes out is at no pressure; it enters the reaction vessel either due to a height difference or by being pumped in directly. If you take a close look at the plate-and-frame structure and its principle, you’ll understand that the filtrate flows out by gravity
In plate and frame filtration, there is no issue of pressure drop; this concept does not apply.
The plate and frame filter is obsolete! Now, bag filters reign supreme in the industry! Call me at 13918836973 if needed
Reply to 1# mail55163: The inlet pressure of a plate and frame filter press depends on the properties of the material and the size of the pump selected for feeding it; generally, the pressure ranges between 3 and 6 kilograms. But there is definitely pressure on exports; it’s fine to put it directly into the reactor. There are two ways in which water can be discharged from a plate and frame filter press: open flow and closed flow. Of course, with the open flow method, water flows out through the holes in each filter plate, so the pressure is not concentrated ; The undercurrent filter plate is under pressure because the water exits through pipes at the end of the filter press; therefore, it’s no problem to raise it to a height of around 4 meters. Care should be taken to install a drain valve at a slightly lower position at the bottom of the drainage pipe, which is used to drain any remaining water when the pressure filter stops operating.
How is the feed pump for a filter press typically configured? Could you give some guidance?
0.6~0.7 Mpa at the pump outlet; I’m not sure about the other values. Hope this is useful to you
