What are the main differences between Xinhua’s old system XDC800 and the new system XDPS-eDPU?
EDPU is the name of the controller in the XDPS-400e system. The controller for the earlier XDPS-400 model was called DPU. The XDPS system was originally a product of Xinhua Power Plant; it has since been sold to GE Energy. The XDC800 system is a new DCS product developed by Xinhua Group after selling Xinhua Power Plant to GE. It has no logical connection to the XDPS system, so there is no such thing as an old or new system in this context
In addition to what was mentioned upstairs, I would like to add a few points briefly: (1) The XDC800 can be regarded as an upgraded version of the XDPS； (2) The XDC800 features a modular architecture; its redundant controllers are equipped with 300MHZ processors, which are quite powerful ； (3) The XDC800 was actually developed long ago and launched on the market in 2005. (4) Structurally, there is not much difference between the two; both feature a serverless, bottleneck-free N:1 redundant architecture ； (5) The lower-layer I/O network is a C/D redundant network; the control layer network remains divided into an A/B redundant real-time network and a C network, as well as a non-real-time data network (used for transmitting files)
The configuration is basically the same, just simplified a bit
