I would like to ask fellow sailors what the oxygen content level in boiler feedwater is, and what the unit of measurement is What adverse effects can high oxygen levels have on the operation of a boiler? Thank you!
The oxygen content in boiler feedwater is generally controlled to be ≤15µg/L; excessive oxygen content in boiler feedwater can cause oxygen corrosion in the pipelines, reducing their service life.
According to the current latest standard GB1576-2008 (which can be found on this forum), there are specific requirements regarding the dissolved oxygen level depending on the rated pressure of the boiler and the type of feed water (softened water or deionized water). These requirements vary, and since the information you provided is insufficient, it is not possible to determine the relevant values. The unit for dissolved oxygen is generally mg/L, as dissolved oxygen can cause corrosion in the boiler’s steam and water systems.
