May I ask how to design the refractory bricks and insulation layer on the top of a boiling furnace? It’s mentioned in that book; could you share it with me? Thank you
During the start-up and shutdown of the boiling furnace, the arch bricks expand and contract due to temperature changes. Moreover, the conical arch exerts forces on its bricks in a less optimal manner compared to a spherical arch; in particular, the bricks on the outer side of the arch are subjected to greater stress and are more prone to breaking.
