3 months passes by in no time; the American intern’s summer internship has come to an end. Today is his last night in Shanghai. Our company organized a goodbye pizza lunch for him. He was very touched and wrote a farewell letter that made me feel sad. I’m attaching that letter below as the conclusion to the “American Intern Series” posts.Hey everyone, it’s been a real pleasure working with all of you. I’ve definitely learned a lot this summer and gained some great experiences. Thank you so much for helping me adapt to life in Shanghai. I know my Chinese isn’t very good, but I hope I didn’t cause too much trouble during our communications. It was fun trying to figure out how to express things in both Chinese and English together. Cindy, your English is really good when you talk to me on MSN! You should practice more with Sascha though! Also, Sascha, you’d better get yourself a large map of Shanghai if you plan to meet up with Cindy – you’ll need it! :-P Jeff, it’s been interesting working on Paradise English with you… Hopefully we’ll see some results from our efforts in the near future. Anita, it’s been great getting to know you… You’re an amazing person. The office is always more fun and cheerful when you’re around, and your Chinese jokes still make me laugh whenever I think about them… Keep writing your blog so I can read it from the U.S.! Winnie… Thank you so much for helping me with all my visa and currency exchange issues… I think I would still be lost or waiting in lines somewhere without your help! Bert… Thanks for taking me to play badminton. I wish we could have played more! Eric, Gary, Jason & Vicky… Thank you so much for taking me out for lunches at the cafeteria during the first one and a half months I was here. And Yolanda, thanks for always ordering food to be delivered for me during the next one and a half months! Haha! (.........)
