Regarding the installation of check valves

Should the check valve be placed at the inlet or outlet of the circulating water pump, and what should be the distance between it and the pump? What distance should be maintained between the flow transmitter and the steam inlet of the heat exchange unit? What should be considered regarding the position of electric control valves? What is the distance between the solenoid valve and the butterfly valves at both ends?
A check valve should be placed behind the pump to prevent damage to the pump caused by backflow of water. It’s a form of protection for the pump!
The check valve is placed at the outlet of the circulation water pump; for the flow transmitter, refer to the manufacturer’s installation instructions. As for the electric control valve, follow the requirements provided by the supplier. There are no specific requirements regarding the distance between the solenoid valve and the butterfly valves at each end.
A check valve, as the name implies, is used to prevent backflow; it must be installed after the pump. For other details, refer to the chemical industry standards
