Due to installation issues during construction, the flapper of the main smoke duct can no longer be opened or closed. How can this issue be resolved without shutting down production? Are there any other good solutions?
It’s probably the bricks inside that are stuck; hold the lifting rod and strike hard. . . . .

Additionally, when designing and installing it, the flap of the main smoke duct should be about 10 cm above the ground level; use a winch to lift it slightly. Also, if there is too much alkaline substance in the smoke duct, you can consider using the high-pressure water gun from a fire truck to open the cover of the main smoke duct, and then rinse it with the water gun – this will help clear it out after a while

Lifting it by 5 cm is no problem. Additionally, if it really can’t be rotated or if it’s not possible to go down to make repairs, it is recommended that you remove the top two cast iron plates in order to ensure sufficient suction at the designed coking time. When you need to reduce the suction time by extending the coking time, you can use those two steel plates from the top cover to block the gap, thereby reducing the suction level
We have also encountered similar problems; when the coke oven was first put into operation, it could be switched on and off by hand. But after 3 months of operation, once the normal coking time was restored, it turned out that it could no longer be moved. The main reason is rust at the base of the flip mechanism; a hand chain hoist is used to lift the entire flip mechanism up and down in order to find a gap that allows it to move, so as to meet production requirements first, with solutions to be found gradually thereafter.
