What will happen if the top temperature of the benzene removal tower remains at 98 degrees?
Why 98 degrees? Being in this position for a long time evaporates the light components in the washing oil, increasing the consumption of washing oil.
98 degrees is quite high; usually it’s around 90–95
The crude benzene spotting fails to meet standards, and a large amount of washing oil is consumed. It generally needs to be kept around 90°C.
The temperature is too high; it should generally not exceed 93, otherwise the oil consumption will be unmanageable for you.
In fact, it’s not necessarily necessary to keep the temperature at a specific level; this depends on the manufacturing processes used in your plant. If the quality of crude benzene is well above 91%, it’s necessary to increase the temperature at the top of the tower until it approaches 91%. In our facility, this temperature is usually around 98 to 99 degrees, resulting in an distillation yield of 91.5%. However, when conducting comparisons, some companies maintain a temperature of only 95 degrees at the top of their towers
