According to CCI News, on August 27, a ceremony marking the strategic partnership between the People’s Government of Jiaxing City and the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as a ceremony for the licensing of DMTO technology, was held in Jiaxing Port Area. The signing of this agreement marks the official establishment of Zhejiang Xingxing New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s methanol-to-olefins project in Jiaxing Port Area. It is reported that the methanol-to-olefins project in Jiaxing Port Area will require an initial investment of around 12 billion yuan, with about 5 billion yuan needed for the preliminary stages. Once operational, it is expected to generate sales revenue of around 18 billion yuan and tax revenues of 3.6 billion yuan. The 1.8 million tons/year methanol-to-olefins project, producing 600,000 tons/year of olefins, is a methanol-to-olefins facility invested in and built by Zhejiang Xingxing New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in the Jiaxing Port Area, with two additional units reserved. The capacity of the first phase of the plant is 300,000 tons of ethylene and 300,000 tons of propylene, with over 100,000 tons of other by-products. According to relevant forecasts, the project to produce 600,000 tons of olefins per year from 1.8 million tons of methanol per year (the first phase of the methanol-to-olefins project) is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2012. Once the project is fully operational, it will enable downstream enterprises to form an industrial cluster in the Jiaxing Port area, with the total output value of the methanol-to-olefins industry reaching 50 billion yuan within 5 years. . Why are so many methanol-to-olefins plants being built all at once? Will a supersaturated state occur at that time?
At least wait until the industrial facilities in Baotou have been in operation for half a year before promoting it; Dalian Institute is in too much of a hurry to make money
Reply to 1#: Dogs in need of warmth. It seems that an MTO project is also being launched in Ningbo, Zhejiang – this will be an industrial revolution. But the problem is how to resolve the issue of methanol sources in the south! It is recommended that coal coking in the north develop in this direction.
We are developing MTO in Ningbo; Zhenhai has the largest chemical liquid terminal in the country, and it enjoys significant port advantages in terms of importing raw material methanol as well as exporting products.
I think it’s better to use imported methanol for production first, as it offers better economic benefits! First, improve the coal-to-methanol technology domestically. Isn’t it true that the oil olefin technology in the Middle East is quite good? It would be possible to gradually establish medium-sized factories in the domestic market, using a combination of semi-imported and domestically produced materials, in order to promote faster development of this industry!
It was completed and put into operation in 12 years – that’s quite fast. Dahuaxian Institute’s market promotion efforts are really swift; the other companies are clearly falling behind
Damn it, the methanol-to-olefins technology developed by our company is outdated
Does anyone know whether the source of methanol can be reliably secured when Ningbo plans this project?
It seems everyone is rushing to do it; Shenhua itself is also preparing to urgently install another MTO unit
