The single-flange pressure level gauge from E+H – I’m not sure why, but the product I received differs somewhat from what I had ordered. So some adjustments were made; everyone, does it look right? My situation is as follows: the level gauge is installed at a distance of 0.3 meters from the bottom of the tank, with the tank’s height being 9.75 meters. The specific gravity of the medium in question is 1.83, and the actual measurement distance is 9.45 meters. The level gauge purchased has a range of 0–100 KPA; it was calibrated using water as a reference, where 10 meters of water corresponds to 100 KPA. Based on the specific gravity of 1.83 for the medium in use, it can be calculated that 5.46 meters of this medium correspond to 100 KPA. Therefore, the pressure at the full measurement range of 9.45 meters would be 173 KPA. Should I adjust the range of the level gauge to 0–173 KPA? Meanwhile, the level gauge on the DCS system has a range of 0.3–9.75 meters. Is this approach correct?
Measure the distance from the transmitter to the flange. I don’t know whether the level gauge you purchased came with a flange and a capillary; if it does come with a capillary, then you need to determine the density of the filling liquid inside that capillary in order to calculate the amount of migration. Alternatively, when the container is empty, you can simply read the value shown on the level gauge and use that value as the amount of migration, and then adjust for positive migration.
Without capillaries, am I doing this correctly?
Just do the migration? No need to change the range?
That’s right, it’s possible to do that. However, the zero point of E+H tends to fluctuate, so pay attention to its maintenance

Range = 9.45*1830*9.8 = 169 kPa. The DCS range can be set between 0 and 9.45; the 0.3 meters below the measurement point constitutes the process reserve level, which is the dead zone for instrument measurement.
