The field instruments are connected directly to the explosion-proof disturbance pipes, with no compression in between. Is this acceptable? The main issue is that the threaded holes on the instruments are not deep enough; if rubber seals or compression rings are used, it becomes impossible to ensure a proper connection of the explosion-proof tubing (this is mainly to allow more turns of thread). It’s not economical to buy a complete set of connectors and such.

To use explosion-proof disturbance-resistant tubes, Y-connectors must be used to seal the cables, especially for explosion-proof instrumentation. A direct connection does not comply with explosion-proof design requirements, as you have not sealed the cables inside the pipe.

Some of the instrument interfaces here come with seals built in, so the explosion-proof disturbance-resistant hoses can be connected directly. If the instrument does not come with its own seal, simply ask the supplier to provide one when purchasing the explosion-proof disturbance-resistant hose.
