A disc valve of model AD340*2.5 has been provided. What do the letters AD 3 4 0 represent, especially A and 0? I would appreciate guidance from those who know more about this, thank you~
Judging from the model you mentioned, it should be a sanitary butterfly valve with worm gear connection and lever mechanism; AD refers to the sanitary butterfly valve type, 0 indicates a lever mechanism, and 2.5 obviously represents pressure – the diameter isn’t specified here
I largely agree with the views expressed above, but “AD” does not necessarily refer to butterfly valves of sanitary grade; you’ll find out by doing a simple search that in fact there is no GB standard for this type of valve – it’s purely a practice followed within the industry. The suggestions are for reference only!
I basically agree with the opinions of the two people above. Indeed, there are standards for coding valve models: JB/T308-2004 (the current latest standard). However, some factories add additional identifiers based on the needs of changes in their products, and it is difficult for anyone other than the manufacturer to figure out what those identifiers mean. It’s not certain that A denotes a sanitary-grade valve; it depends on the application in which the valve is used.

What was said upstairs makes sense – 340 refers to the diameter, which means this does not meet national standards. The person upstairs works on sanitary-grade valves; can you tell me the correct way of writing that designation?
