How do I set the A4 frame in CAD drawings? ? Newcomer's guide
If none is available, it’s usual to draw a frame first and then draw inside it
You can choose to print the drawing in A4 size; select the range of the drawing, and then choose to scale it according to the paper size
This is how we do printing: press Ctrl+P, and a print menu will appear; then we just select the range to be printed. It only depends on the size of the paper you use; if it’s printed on A4 paper, then it will be A4 in size. You just need to draw a rectangle for the frame by yourself
The size of the A4 paper frame is 0.125, that is, 210 mm in width and 297 mm in height. The size of drawings increases by the square root of 2; thus, the next larger size is 0.25, corresponding to 297 mm in width and 420 mm in height. The subsequent size is 0.5, with dimensions of 420 mm in width and 594 mm in height, and so on.
Draw an A4 frame of 297*210, scale up the drawn graphic in model space to fit it within this frame, or set up the graphic using the layout options and select the A4 frame as the printing area when printing.
Typically, companies or design institutes have reference books of drawing frames in various sizes, which can generally be used directly. If it really can’t be found, you can also draw it by yourself as suggested on floor 6
Draw one according to the standard drawing frame, save it in DWT format as a template, use it when creating new files, and then save it in DWG format.
Draw an A4 frame of 297*210 in the layout for use in generating prints from it later.
