Our company has recently added several unit frames to each electrolyzer; the cathode outlet hoses are not original products from Beihua Machinery, but were supplied by Ankate. After starting the vehicle, sparks were observed at the connection point where the newly installed Ankaite cathode outlet hose meets the main catholyte outlet pipe. I wonder if other professionals have encountered this issue; please share any insights you may have. , , -
If the situation described by the poster occurs, it is very likely that the insulation at the connection point between the cathode hose and the catholyte main pipe is poor; perhaps the alkaline solution has seeped through and connected the hose to the main pipe, resulting in a short circuit, or in other words, a short circuit between the electrodes. It is necessary to thoroughly inspect the connection between the cathode hose and the catholyte main pipe! Each cell stack in our factory consists of 67 cells, although this number can be increased to 70. We are curious to know how the performance is after making such an increase in your company; we hope you can share your experience. Thank you!
The specific reason is still unknown, but we encountered this situation once when starting up a new tank. After consulting the manufacturer, it was kept running, and it improved after two days of operation.
It’s okay; the main cause is voltage drop. The corrugations on the overflow tube are there to eliminate this issue. It’s possible that it isn’t installed properly or is too vertical in your location
In my company as well, there were sparks in the hoses at the beginning of operation, but they disappeared once the current increased.
Is there a spark in the inlet pipe or in the outlet pipe? If there are sparks during import, it is caused by too low a flow rate of the alkaline solution; we have never encountered sparks in the outlet pipeline.
