Why is sodium hydroxide added before reverse osmosis in pure water treatment?
I haven’t carried out new water treatment; I’ve only heard a little about it. Generally, before carrying out new water treatment, a bactericide is added, and such bactericides are usually acidic. Is this done to neutralize excess acid, given that reverse osmosis membranes have specific requirements regarding the pH of the incoming water?
