The quality of the raw coke is poor; furthermore, reducing the amount of chemical products leads to waste of resources. At the same time, coking causes significant damage to the furnace walls; wet quenching of coke may result in greater losses of water gas and more coke, while dry quenching increases the likelihood of explosions.
:)The answer is correct. So how can one determine if charring has occurred?
If, during the coke discharge process, the brightness of the coke cake is significantly reduced – with a length of over 2 meters and a height of more than 20 cm (excluding the furnace tip area) – or if there is heavy smoke and intense flames rising more than 5 meters above the furnace top, it can be considered that raw coke has been formed.
