I’ve been here for a long time and have always wanted to pay attention to things related to the treatment of sulfuric acid exhaust gases! I still haven’t found it! ! How is sulfuric acid exhaust generally treated these days? Is ammonia used for absorption? What is the current market situation for ammonium bisulfite? Dear seniors, do you know any organizations that need ammonium bisulfite? 》
Generally, for systems that undergo conversion once, the ammonia absorption method is used to produce qualified ammonium sulfite or ammonium bisulfite products; if ammonium hydrosulfite products are produced, their market sales are not very good

On July 25, 2008, the first ion liquid flue gas absorption system in China’s smelting industry was put into operation at Bayannur Zijin Non-ferrous Metals Co., Ltd., marking that the flue gas emissions from the company’s 100,000-ton zinc smelting plant had reached a level leading in the country. This system utilizes the patented \"ionic liquid\" cyclic absorption desulfurization technology developed by Chengdu Huaxi Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., and is primarily used to treat sulfuric acid waste gas from a zinc smelting plant with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons, as well as the flue gas from 4 industrial boilers with a capacity of 20 tons each. According to on-site monitoring, the sulfur dioxide concentration at the outlet of the acid production exhaust gas is less than 300 mg/Nm, which is far below the standards specified in the \"Emission Standards for Air Pollutants from Boilers\" and the \"Comprehensive Emission Standards for Air Pollutants\". At the same time, thanks to this technology, Bayannur Zijin is able to recover over 3,000 tons of sulfuric acid from exhaust gases each year, increasing its sulfuric acid production. This not only helps reduce emissions but also generates significant economic benefits for the company, pushing its efforts in energy conservation and emission reduction to a new level. The flue gas desulfurization technology based on the ion liquid cyclic absorption method uses an absorbent that is primarily composed of organic cations and inorganic anions, with small amounts of activators, antioxidants, and corrosion inhibitors added to it. This absorbent has excellent capabilities for absorbing and releasing sulfur dioxide gas; it absorbs sulfur dioxide at low temperatures, and at high temperatures, the sulfur dioxide contained in the absorbent is regenerated, resulting in sulfur dioxide gas with a purity of over 99%. The recovered flue gas is then sent to the acid production system for acid manufacturing, thereby achieving the removal and recovery of sulfur dioxide from the flue gas. The designed desulfurization efficiency is 95%. The commissioning of this project has truly enabled the enterprise to achieve a balance between environmental and economic benefits.
Reply to 4# txglyl: I am planning to install a system for producing acid from smelting flue gas, and I am considering which treatment process to use for the exhaust gases – whether it should be activated carbon adsorption, the CANSOLV technology using organic amines, or something else. I would like to know more about West China’s ion liquid-based exhaust gas treatment technology. Those who are familiar with this technology could please share details on the process, operation methods, and investment costs. Alternatively, you can send me an email at PH1Z@FOXMAIL.COM
Could everyone tell us what the desulfurization rates of various methods are?

The desulfurization of exhaust gases from sulfuric acid plants generally employs the hydrogen peroxide process, with the by-product dilute sulfuric acid being returned to the quenching and washing unit for use
We use dry treatment at 60 degrees Celsius to treat acid-producing exhaust gases and remove sulfur. By-product dilute sulfuric acid
Absorption of acid-producing exhaust gases; activated carbon substrate, dry process, desulfurization at a low temperature of 50°C; by-product is dilute sulfuric acid, with sulfuric acid mist emissions below 5; core technology from Sichuan University. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions
Learn about the catalytic oxidation technology at Sichuan University. At a low temperature of 50°C, dilute sulfuric acid is produced as a by-product.
