This is the harm I’ve seen: 1. Excessive steam leakage enters the bearings through the oil seal, resulting in severe water contamination in the oil tank. 2. Another hazard is that the heat generated by the leaking steam blocks the oil return holes at the bottom of the bearing’s serrated seal grooves; heating causes the heavier components of the lubricating oil to clog these oil return holes. As a result, oil leakage from the bearings cannot be contained by the seals and returns to the oil tank, leading to significant leakage of lubricating oil from the gap between the seal and the shaft.
