By adding two adjacent purification units between the large storage tank and the pump, with a high-absorption filtering medium and a microporous filter placed at the front and natural sedimentation used at the back, volatile sulfides, chlorides, and solid suspended particles in the raw material can be effectively removed, thereby preventing the catalyst from being poisoned and rendered inactive. After each stop, it is necessary to clean the impurities from the purification device to ensure the purity of methanol in subsequent production.
Another reason for excessive silver consumption is related to the matching of the fineness grades of silver. Generally speaking, using a mixture of sponge silver and crystalline silver yields better results when dealing with coarser grades.
