The gasifier makes noise during operation; it sounds a bit like metal hitting each other, in an intermittent but regular pattern. The noise gets louder when the load is increased. I would like to know the reason for this. Thank you
The converter shell has a water jacket, right? Is it because of cracks in the casting material, which caused the water in the jacket to vaporize? Just my personal opinion. If that’s not correct, please point it out.
It seems that the sound is coming from the conical section of the converter, which is likely the combustion area. The sound appears to be caused by air currents hitting something; it doesn’t seem like there’s a problem with the furnace itself. I think it might be due to an uneven distribution of the combustion flow field or unstable air currents. This is just my opinion; I hope experts can provide some guidance
A few days ago I heard a sound; there are two opinions regarding it – one is that it’s the sound of air flow scouring the burner tube section, and the other is that it’s the sound of burner misalignment. Some believe that there may be a flow deviation in the burner, others think the burner might be cracked, and still others suspect that the operating pressure difference is too high, causing oxygen to inhibit the mixing of the process gas and exerting significant erosion on the burner. The general principle for handling this is to reduce the oxygen level until complete cutting is achieved, and then reduce the steam supply. During this process, pay attention to changes in the sound; if the sound disappears, oxygen can be added again. If the sound persists, it is recommended to stop the machine for inspection – safety comes first. I have also given suggestions to some people: to conduct an accurate analysis, I need the burner structure diagram, as well as process design data and operational data, which serve as the basis for this.
There is another possibility: the burner is vibrating pulsatively, but the frequency of the impact sound is unknown? It might be better to check that.
The sound has a pulsating quality and is quite rhythmic. When the load is low, the frequency of the sound is high, but the volume is low; as the load increases, the frequency decreases while the volume increases.
Is it a metal burner or a non-metal burner?
Our conversion furnace has been making noise since it was put into operation; it’s been emitting a ‘buzzing’ sound, but we haven’t had the opportunity to take it apart for inspection.
