“Installing an orifice plate at an appropriate location on the outlet pipeline of the compressor is one effective method for reducing vibration on-site; the mechanism involves converting the standing waves in that section into traveling waves, thereby reducing pressure unevenness. ” What does it mean to replace \"standing wave\" with \"traveling wave\" in the above text?
Firstly, standing waves and traveling waves are relative concepts; a standing wave is one in which the propagation speed of the vibration wave is slow, and most of the energy of such a wave is used for vibration rather than propagation, resulting in intense vibrations. A traveling wave is the exact opposite; the energy of such a wave is primarily used for propagation, and as a result the amplitude of the vibrations is greatly reduced, which appears to have a damping effect. I’m not sure if I made myself clear? ....

I see now, thank you. I thought this post would turn into a spam post,,,
