The slurry steam generator in a catalytic cracking unit requires core extraction for repair; what are the steps to be followed from the time of shutdown until the work is handed over to the construction contractor?
1. Close the inlet and outlet valves for the slurry, and secure them with wire to prevent anyone from opening them accidentally. Do not rush to turn off the water and steam supply to the steam generator yet. 2. Open the valve for heavy residue oil at the slurry outlet, thereby establishing the flow path for heavy residue oil; also turn on the purge steam at the slurry inlet. 3. After 24 hours of purging, close the valve for heavy residue oil, and open the vent valve at the slurry outlet to direct the steam into the drain. Stop supplying steam once the steam coming out is clean. 4. Before stopping the steam supply, you can close the water and steam valves, and open the on-site drain valve or the vent valve located beneath the shell. Remember not to allow pressure to build up during the purging process
