Difference between atmospheric pressure boilers and pressure-rated boilers

A boiler is a device used to produce steam and heat water. A boiler that produces steam is called a steam boiler, while a boiler that heats water without causing it to vaporize is called a hot water boiler. A atmospheric pressure boiler is a non-pressurized hot water boiler; it means that the top of such a boiler generally does not experience the static pressure of the water column in the heating system, which is equivalent to an “open hot water tank”. Pressurized boilers, on the other hand, are the enclosed boilers that we see commonly. The steam-water system inside a boiler consists of sealed containers and pipes, and it is heated by flames; it is subjected to fluid pressure during operation and thus falls under the category of pressure vessels.
