Selection of pressure gauge drain valves

This post was last edited by rocketbull on 2010-9-9 13:16. Regarding the installation methods of pressure gauges, there are those with a drain valve and those without one; how should one make a choice during design? Is it related to the medium?
The medium for storing stolen goods should be one equipped with a discharge valve
It is related to the medium and the installation location (some areas are prone to blockages and thus require regular cleaning)
It depends on the medium being tested; for media that tend to cause scaling and blockages in pipelines, a drain valve should be installed during pressure measurement.
If it gets clogged easily, why aren’t any isolation measures put in place?
The poster is referring to the waste discharge valve; our factory uses needle valves (plug valves), but their quality is not up to standard and they often leak. I think the valve operates with liquid entering from the lower side and exiting from the upper side; if it’s installed upside down so that liquid enters from the upper side and exits from the lower side, wouldn’t that help to prevent leakage?
