I encountered the process data for a pressure gauge: the operating pressure is 0.004 MPa, while the design pressure is 0.3 MPa. So, can a diaphragm pressure gauge be used?
By design pressure, do you mean the nominal pressure for pipeline design or the range of the pressure gauge to be selected? If it refers to the range of the pressure gauge, then there is a problem with the design, as the chosen pressure range is too high. Based on your operating pressure, it would be better to use a 1-meter U-tube manometer. Diaphragm micro-pressure gauges require high standards from manufacturers, are prone to damage during use, and are also relatively expensive.
It’s impossible to make a choice under such design pressures, right? ?
If the design pressure is set to the selected range, it is inappropriate; it is too high. Diaphragm gauge is also not suitable
With such high design pressures, diaphragm boxes won’t work.
With such a large difference between the design pressure and the operating pressure, it’s better to use a pressure transmitter.
