I’ve read many posts on Haichuan and found that when performing distillation simulations, people usually use theoretical plates for calculations, and then convert these theoretical plates into an actual number of plates based on the efficiency of each plate. Is it possible to take into account all factors such as the efficiency of each plate, the type and properties of the trays or packing, the porosity, and pressure drops, in order to simulate the actual number of plates? Is there anyone who has information on setting up such a system? Thank you
It’s available within the module; the board efficiency can be found in the efficiencies section, where it’s possible to define the efficiency of each board; Parameters of the board can be defined in tray rating and pack rating
The plate efficiency is generally determined based on experience; if you have an actual installation, you can use tools for analysis and temperature data to try and determine the appropriate plate efficiency. If it’s about design, then check the plate efficiency of similar towers. If you want to calculate plate efficiency, there probably isn’t such software.

But once tray efficiency is defined, is it still necessary to define the properties of packing or trays? I think once the properties of the packing or trays are determined, the tray efficiency is naturally determined as well

To reply to 5# zc8878052, just enter the plate efficiency; the value at which the actual temperature and the results of analytical tests are roughly consistent is the appropriate plate efficiency.
