At present, our company has a gas separation unit; the desulfurized feed gas needs to be washed before it can be separated. Several problems have arisen during the washing process; please help analyze them and provide suggestions regarding investment. 1. The water shut-off valves used for washing are severely scaled. 2. Scaling is also severe inside the tower during annual maintenance. 3. There is a high pressure drop at the inlet and outlet. The company uses industrial water for washing, with a temperature of 25–30 degrees
It might be that the water source contains high levels of calcium and magnesium ions, resulting in high water hardness; it’s hard to say anything else. Is it the high pressure at the inlet and outlet of the washing tank?

My suggestion. The wash water is cleaned using steam condensed from steam heated by an atmosphere device; in this case, there must be two valves for controlling the water flow – one open and one closed – with ball valves or globe valves being recommended for the outermost valve
