Can medium-pressure superheated steam be used as the cooling steam for the catalytic cracking flue gas turbine disk? What temperature should the wheel be controlled at?
It should be low-pressure superheated steam. The temperature is maintained between 320 and 350 degrees Celsius. Personal opinion, for reference only.
The wheel temperature should be kept between 320 and 350 degrees Celsius; if superheated medium-pressure steam is used, the temperature is usually around 400 degrees, which is higher than the desired range, so it cannot be used.
The higher the steam temperature for wheel guard protection, the greater the amount of steam, which can affect the shaft displacement of the smoke extractor. The steam temperature for protecting the smoke extractor wheel is controlled at 250–280 degrees; the wheel temperature should not exceed 340 degrees. Using medium-pressure steam is not very cost-effective in terms of energy consumption. I have very little knowledge regarding smoke extractors; I hope experts can provide an answer.
The function of the protection steam for the rotor is twofold: 1. To cool the root portion of the rotor blades, thereby reducing the stress on the rotor. Extend the service life. 2. Prevent catalyst fines from entering the dead zone between the primary and secondary disks, where they can form clumps that stick to the disks and affect dynamic balance. Here, the temperature of the wheel disc after cooling by the smoke extractor is required to be between 280 and 350 degrees Celsius; low-pressure superheated steam is generally used as the steam for protecting the wheel disc. If medium-pressure superheated steam is used instead, comprehensive calculations are required. For example: whether it can meet the operating conditions of the wheel, whether it is more cost-effective, and so on. The above are merely what I have encountered; I would appreciate detailed explanations from professionals in this field.
