Reply to 1# yang*anghui: The concentration of calcium chloride involves two main stages. In the first stage, the low-concentration calcium chloride solution is raised to 30%–40%; this is usually achieved using multi-effect standard suspended basket evaporators or Leven evaporators. There is not much difference between these and ordinary caustic soda evaporators, and stainless steel is also used as the material for construction. The second stage involves raising the concentration to 70%–95%, primarily for the production of solid calcium chloride. In this stage, fluidized bed hot air furnaces are used extensively; the gas produced by coal-fired boilers is utilized to blow air over the calcium chloride solution in the bed, thereby achieving evaporation and concentration. This stage is also divided into two sub-stages: at the lower temperature, solid dihydrate calcium chloride with a concentration of around 70% can be produced, while at the higher temperature, anhydrous calcium chloride can be obtained. The temperature in the high-temperature stage needs to reach 290 degrees Celsius. The material used for feeding is also stainless steel. The other parts are carbon steel.
Will using all stainless steel cause stress corrosion? Especially at high concentrations.
