During the recent startups of the air separation equipment manufactured by our factory, Hangyang, the flow rate of crude argon was normal at the beginning once the argon system was activated. However, after operating for some time, significant fluctuations in the crude argon flow rate occurred, and eventually no flow rate was detected, although all other process parameters remained normal. The flow meter is broken; significant fluctuations are likely due to liquid entering
If there is no problem with the flow meter, it is recommended to reduce the purity of the oxygen-enriched liquid air fed to the condenser of the crude argon tower, or increase its flow rate
Is the purity of the argon fraction entering Column 1 very high? Also, does this temperature decrease in the later stages? If that’s the case, then it’s a nitrogen plug! If that’s not the case, then didn’t you find that liquid was entering the flow meter during your inspection?
It depends on whether your operating conditions are stable; if they are stable and there are no issues such as nitrogen blockages, then it’s likely that the pressure lead tube of your flow meter is blocked – either by ice or by liquid entering it;

Answer: Hehehe, everything else is normal; it must be a problem with the instrumentation and control system——the flow meter.
There is likely a problem with the installation of the pressure pipelines for the flow signal instruments inside the tower; as some colleagues upstairs mentioned, liquid in the negative signal pipeline can cause this phenomenon. Check the signal pipelines when there is a chance to clean the sand.
