How to write a request for quote for a control system

The project was designed by a design institute; during the preliminary design phase, quotations were requested from PLC and module manufacturers with the aim of estimating the project cost. Should the entire system be quoted as a whole, or should quotes be obtained separately for each component (e.g., PLC, modules, software, workstations)? If requesting a quote by component, how should the quote request be written? I hope experts can offer some guidance; it would be even better if there are existing inquiry forms for reference. It’s best to inquire about the prices of each component separately, so you can have a clear idea of the costs. There’s no fixed format – you just need to list the main components you want to purchase in your inquiry

First, draw up a technical agreement to define the scope of supply, and then have the supplier submit a quote; that way there will be no problems.
