I would like to ask fellow marine industry professionals: for a large crude oil storage facility consisting of 4 crude oil floating roof tanks, what should be the required grounding resistance value for the lightning protection grounding network installed there? I’ve checked many codes – some specify 10 ohms while others require 4 ohms; I’m really confused................... It involves codes for the design of oil depots, standards for lightning safety in oil and petroleum facilities, as well as codes for lightning protection in buildings. It seems there isn’t any clear specification

According to GB50074-2002, clause 14.2.2: The grounding resistance of steel oil tanks should not exceed 10 ohms
We ensure that the grounding resistance is no more than 10 ohms per point, with the distance between the two grounding wires being no more than 30 meters. The meteorological department comes to the company for inspections once a year in spring, while workshop employees conduct inspections once in summer and once in autumn
