Our company is still under construction; the indoor fire protection pipes run through the analysis laboratory, with the pipes exposed. The analysis team has indicated that a leak in these pipes could damage the valuable instruments there. I checked the fire protection codes for building design, and it doesn’t mention this explicitly. In this case, it will be somewhat difficult to ask the installer to modify the pipeline settings. So I would like to ask, are there any relevant laws and regulations, standards, or practices that can be referred to?
Pipeline leaks indeed can have an impact on the surrounding area. Depending on the surrounding conditions, the consequences of such leaks vary, and thus the requirements also differ. According to the regulations, water pipes are not allowed to pass through the electrical distribution room. Personally, I don’t see any problem – could the fire pipes leak? Use seamless tubes! Besides, doesn’t the laboratory have any heating pipes or water supply pipes? The laboratory has some overly high requirements!
It can be changed to proceed underground, or along the safe side of the laboratory’s floor; in the event of a leak, it won’t cause spraying from above. Something can also be used to cover it, and pressure-resistant seamless steel pipes can be employed, which won’t leak for some time.
