Issues with parallel and series connection of vacuum pumps

There are two water ring vacuum pumps, one with a higher vacuum level and the other with a lower one. Can they be used in parallel or in series to increase the vacuum level of the system?
It’s not very suitable; it’s difficult to operate, and there are also issues with the circulating water in the primary water ring pump.
They can be connected in parallel to increase the pumping speed; whether in parallel or in series, the change in vacuum level should not be significant. The ultimate vacuum level of water ring vacuum pumps is more or less the same, belonging to the same category. To achieve a higher vacuum level, one could consider using a water ring pump in series with a Roots pump :)
Our laboratory has used two Roots pumps in series.
To increase the vacuum level, a water ring pump and a Roots pump are connected in series; multiple Roots pumps can also be used in series； Using liquid ring pumps in series is pointless; it may even prevent both pumps from functioning! Parallel connection can only increase the pumping volume; it cannot improve the ultimate vacuum level
Agree with the view on floor 5: the water ring pump is affected by the vaporization of the medium, and thus cannot increase the vacuum level.
