Dear colleagues in the coking industry, I would like to ask if anyone uses diesel as sealing oil?
I don’t seem to be aware of any manufacturer that uses diesel as the sealing oil for radiation pumps; diesel is too light, and the temperature at which oil is extracted from the distillation tower is too high. The dry point of diesel is generally around 290 degrees, so using it as sealing oil would likely cause it to vaporize, resulting in the radiation pump becoming evacuated
