The bearing shells were mysteriously burned out, on both the upper and lower sides
Check whether the lubricant supply is normal, whether there is surging, whether all vibration levels and shaft temperatures are within normal ranges, what the quality of the oil is like, and what the temperature of the oil returning to the tank is. From these aspects, it is possible to determine what the cause of the problem is.
The reasons for bearing burnout are as follows: (1) Small clearance in the bearings; (2) Insufficient oil supply or dirty oil; (3) Poor concentricity of the bearings; (4) Poor contact between the bearing journals and the shaft; (5) Poor alignment of the couplings
Wasn’t a square pattern created when the bearing shells were installed above and below?
