Potash fertilizer market prices have risen. Domestic potash fertilizer manufacturers have basically filled up their orders for the year; due to difficulties in transporting domestically produced potash, there is a shortage of potash fertilizer in border trade and at ports, and traders have limited inventory, resulting in overall tight supply in the market. Although trading was limited this week, bullish expectations drove the price of 60% salt lake potash on the market up from 2,460–2,500 yuan/ton last week to 2,500–2,600 yuan/ton. Major producers in the international market have begun to prepare for the new negotiations in 2011, successively announcing price increases for the fourth quarter. The prices of potassium fertilizers for border trade at domestic ports have risen accordingly; the port price for 60% Russian red potassium is 2550–2650 yuan per ton, while that for white potassium is 2700–2750 yuan per ton.
