In GB/T 1884-2000, Laboratory Method for Determining the Density of Crude Oil and Liquid Petroleum Products (Hydrometer Method), there is a distinction between transparent liquids and opaque liquids when it comes to placing the hydrometer and reading its scale. May I ask how to distinguish between transparent liquids and opaque liquids? Thank you

Transparent or opaque – this must be a sensory judgment. If data is absolutely necessary, then a turbidimeter is the only option
This reading method is the same as that used for reading colored and colorless standard titrant solutions in a burette.

Do you need qualitative or quantitative information? Qualitatively, it probably relies on intuition.
