Vertical heat exchanger, DN1300; total height: 7000. Heat exchange tubes of DN50, 309 in total, with a length of 6000 each. The tubes are arranged asymmetrically – could this cause the exchanger to tip over? ? ? ?
There shouldn’t be any risk of it falling over, as it’s fixed in place by the ear mounts.
It should be fine to place the center of gravity below the supporting surface.

The piping is arranged asymmetrically; in other words, the center of gravity of the heat exchanger is not at the center of its volume. According to the length-to-diameter ratio mentioned by Mo Mo, it resembles a small chimney and needs to be placed vertically. It depends on what type of fixing mechanism will be used – if ordinary brackets are employed, they should be placed on the side closer to the center of gravity, as steel performs better under compression than under tension.
