Metal wound gaskets are the gaskets with the best resilience among semi-metallic sealing gaskets. They are formed by stacking V-shaped or W-shaped stainless steel strips with non-metallic fillers, winding them together in a spiral pattern, and welding the ends together. Their structural density can be adjusted to meet different tightening requirements, and inner and outer steel rings are used to control the maximum compression force. The surface precision of the flange surfaces in contact with the gasket does not need to be very high. It is particularly suitable for applications with uneven loads, prone joint loosening, periodic changes in temperature and pressure, as well as those subject to shocks or vibrations.
