How are the relationships between SV, PV, and MV of the instruments regulated among themselves?
SV system setpoint, PV actual measured value, MV manual output value (output adjusted based on the measured value)
The SV setpoint is used as a reference; the regulator compares this setpoint with the measured value PV, and based on the result of this comparison it outputs an MV value. This MV value is used to increase or decrease the valve on site, thereby keeping the entire control system stable at the SV setpoint. However, maintaining the value at the SV setpoint is an ideal situation – if there are significant fluctuations, it may be necessary to adjust the PID settings.
You just need to understand what SV, PV, and MV mean; adjust a few more PID values and you’ll understand everything.

MV: Manipulation Variable, which refers to the output controlled by the controller. In automatic mode, the controller generates the control output based on the deviation through PID calculations ； The controller’s manual output is only active in manual mode. MV: Manipulation Variable does not specifically refer to manual input!
