Can an electrically heated water tank be classified as a container?
It is a hot water tank capable of withstanding a pressure of 0.35 MPa. The local inspection authorities consider it to be a hot water boiler, and therefore it should be inspected in accordance with the regulations for boilers; of course, it can also be classified as a boiler. (We thought it might also be classified as a pressure vessel, i.e., a pressure vessel that is not in direct contact with fire.) However, we only have a certificate for vessel design, and we believe it could be designed in accordance with GB150 and inspected under the regulations for vessels. But we cannot find a proper reason to convince them. Do any of you have any good suggestions? Please advise. Thank you.
Some people have suggested taking a look: let’s examine the definitions of boilers and pressure vessels, as well as Article 99 of the Regulations on the Safety Supervision of Special Equipment. According to that, it can only be a boiler.
